The Tim Tam Challenge
In a bid to get us thinking more deeply about what we are reading, we decided to take on the Tim Tam challenge. Here's what happened...
Miss McGibbon handed everyone a delicious piece of chocolatey goodness, otherwise known as a Tim Tam. We ate. Very quickly. This is what we said we'd just eaten...
After that, Miss McGibbon handed out another Tim Tim...that's right...I said another. This time, however, we were asked to look at it, to take our time, smell it, to close our eyes as we ate it really slowly, thinking about the taste and texture as it slowly disintegrated in our mouths.
(Scroll down to the bottom of the pictures to see what we had to say about it then)
The point being when we read things quickly, we can miss so much, that's why it's important to go back and look again, ask questions when things puzzle us, make connections with our own lives and wonder about the characters and the story.
